The first two weeks of breastfeeding can come with a lot of questions: Is this normal? Should it hurt? Why is my baby feeding so often? When should I reach out for help?

Breastfeeding in the First Two Weeks: Common vs. Normal is a simple, easy-to-reference guide designed to help new parents understand the difference between something being common and something being normal during those early days.

Inside, you’ll find common breastfeeding experiences including:

• 🍼 Frequent feeding & cluster feeding

• 👄 Clicking during feeds

• 💧 Tingling and let-down sensations

• 🤍 Breast & nipple tenderness

• 🩹 Cracked, bleeding, or blistered nipples

• 💗 Pumping discomfort

• 🧠 Feelings of dread or anxiety surrounding feeding

• 🍼 Supplementation with breast milk, donor milk, or formula

• 👶 “Pillow” or blistered lips on baby

• 🌸 Engorgement around days 3–5

Each situation is clearly categorized as common, normal, or both, with guidance on when it may be time to seek additional support from an IBCLC or other provider.

This guide is perfect for pregnant parents preparing for breastfeeding, new parents navigating the early postpartum days, or anyone who wants a quick reference when something feels unfamiliar.

Most importantly, you don't have to navigate the first two weeks alone. 💗
